Jorge has over seventeen years of experience in the banking, capital markets, FinTech and telecommunication industries, serving a variety of global public multinational clients including integrated telecommunications operators, retail and commercial banks, investment banks, payment processors, broker dealers, stock exchanges and FinTechs.
Jorge’s experience includes financial statement and internal control audits, as well as accounting consulting services, of large multinational domestic and foreign private issuers under the auditing standards of the United States Public Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) in New York City, Mexico City and Puerto Rico and in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP). In addition, Jorge has extensive experience in the review of public company annual reports (i.e., 20-F and 10-K´s) and the completion of successful capital markets transactions, including initial public offerings and domestic and cross-border debt and equity offerings, all under the rules of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission.
His work has included accounting consultations in the implementation of new accounting pronouncements, the allowance for loan and lease losses (including CECL), valuation of structured fixed income and derivative financial instruments, stock based compensation, transfers of financial assets, evaluation of impairment of intangible assets, executing SEC quarterly reviews, and evaluating internal control over financial reporting according to the Sarbanes–Oxley Act of 2002 (i.e., SOX 404).
Jorge earned a bachelor and master’s degrees of Science in Accounting from Boston College.
